Roxy Beaujolais has made this pub a 'must visit' not only for the quality of its beers; wines and food but also for its unique atmosphere. A proper pub.

The Seven Stars pub was built in 1602 and in all likelihood was built specifically as an alehouse (the evidence has some patches to contend with). Taverns were usually called the Seven Stars to attract Dutch sailors, which referred to the Seven United Provinces of the Netherlands. The area surrounding Carey Street, bounded by the River Fleet to the east and Thames to the south; was popular with Dutch settlers in London - so it appears late-Renaissance marketing Seven Stars, Carey Street - when the weather plays ball, you can 'hang out front' with the legal eagleswas at work here. Prior to its embankment, the Thames was broader (and therefore closer) to The Seven Stars, and industry was very much marine based.

Such a lovley pub, a true gem. The interior is a wonderfully array of framed pictures and photographs, all seemingly well curated! The staff are always friendly and attentive. There is a good range of drinks, from beers to wines and spirits. They even have cigars! One of the best things about this pub though is the food. All homemade, and always fantastic. You can tell the food is made with love and creativity and has always been delicious. The menu is constantly changing so there's always something new. Even staples like chicken wrap or chicken pie have some new slant to them which are enjoyable. The best thing however is pub cat!

Lovely pub. Lovely staff. Lovely cat. "The General" is a friendly furry pub cat who enjoys wearing a ruff. If you can't find home then look in the alcove to the left of the entrance. He's often zzzing on a cushion.

Lovely, authentic London pub, with pub cat! I really enjoyed my well-kept IPA and the atmosphere is wonderful. I would recommend coming here if you are a historic pub enthusiast (or a lawyer as it's opposite the rear of the Central Criminal Court).🙂
