The rooftop garden, originally designed by Arabella Lennox-Boyd, takes its inspiration from Corbusier’s Fifth Elevation, bold and formal. The interior of the restaurant is sleek and elegant using rich walnut veneer wall panelling, Jura limestone flooring, soft leather chairs and mocha upholstered banquettes. Coq d’Argent sits high above the noise of the City, surrounded by a secret garden.
A masterclass in French cooking at its best, the restaurant is the ideal place to escape those day-to-day stresses and enjoy top-class food, discreet service, fine wines and the feeling of being well and truly taken care of. Coq d’Argent has a long established reputation for excellence, not only in the quality we bestow but also for the care and attention to detail displayed by the whole team.
This is an outside area, but is covered and heated. The area is available for drinks and snacks (lunch time snacks are more reduced than dinner snacks) in the daytime (12:00 – 16:00 with the kitchen closing at 15:00) or in the evening (17:30 – midnight with the kitchen closing at 10:00) We can also reserve a roped off area one of our upper terraces as semi-private.

February 2025Popped in for a quick lunch with friends. They had a lunchtime special which was very reasonable at £20 for a steak and desert. The food is beautifully presented and full of flavour. Really top notch. The English beef onglet was really scrumptious. The Crème brûlée was absolutely perfect. Everyone had an excellent meal and if you’re looking for really excellent French style food I’d highly recommend Coq d’Argent.

February 2025This place is in a very prime location, just in front of the Bank of England and has beautiful views from the garden over the city. The food is there amazing, the wine lost is good and the prices are very reasonable for this kind of establishment. Overall, it is a good place to go for a meal or drinks.
