March 2025We have been working away and staying in Kent and recently moved office so moving to a closer hotel was logical. I have been pleasantly surprised with the Great Danes hotel especially the staff. Nina was also helpful in making arrangements for someone to talk to my company to ensure we (3 of us currently) were on the best deal available. I am looking forward to having a walk in the grounds now the weather is improving.

February 2025We were passing through and booked for supper in the bar and Brasserie. Our family had such a warm welcome from Reception and the Restaurant team. We were so impressed with the brilliant food and service. Especially Allison's attention to detail. Our evening felt like a Michelin expensive. Thank you all. A Lovely welcome home All this while the hotel was busy with functions. Impressive.

February 2025Room is in need of an upgrade but was very clean and comfy bed. Poppy checked us in and it was a very smooth process and she was lovely as was Nina the front office manager. Steve on reception was brilliant, very friendly and went above and beyond. Naomi on the bar was also very lovely. Breakfast and dinner was gorgeous too!

March 2025We had a nice short stay at the Great Danes. The hotel was clean, staff were friendly. The only negative was the lack of a decent fish or vegetarian option for the evening meal. (For some reason they removed the sea bass option). The Margherita pizza was probably the best we have ever tasted. The spa was nice but very tired looking. All in all, a nice place for a short break.

March 2025I recently visited this spa after driving past it many times and decided to give it a try. I’ve been to many spas and usually stick to my favorites, but with a free day, I thought I’d try something new. I was warmly greeted by hotel staff, but the positive impression faded at the spa reception—a plain desk awkwardly placed in a hallway. One perk was free parking, and the £12 entry fee seemed like a bargain. However, when I mentioned it was my first visit, the staff member responded with, “You’re brave,”—not exactly reassuring. The pool looked run-down, and the water was far from inviting. The changing rooms were even worse—rusty lockers, dirty floors, and unkempt showers. A foamy jacuzzi (a clear sign of poor hygiene) was an immediate red flag, the steam room barely functioned, and I only found the sauna in the changing rooms upon leaving. I avoided the pool entirely, not wanting to take the risk. I lasted just 25 minutes before leaving. Honestly, you couldn’t pay me £12 to return.
