January 2025The staff are welcoming, the beds are cozy, and the rooms are clean and well-maintained. There's convenient parking right outside. The beer garden is delightful, especially during happy hour. The restaurant serves delicious food with excellent service. I highly recommend the Ragged Cot!

March 2025We stopped at The Ragged Cot for Sunday lunch not long ago and had a fantastic experience. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the whole place has such a welcoming, special atmosphere. Highly recommended – we’ll definitely be back!

January 2025First time staying here. We came here just after Christmas. Lovely hotel and restaurant. We had food here the first night of stay and have to say it was really good food. It was very tasty and well presented. Hotel rooms are lovely decorated and comfy beds. It is not a room that you can't hear your neighbour rooms. We had on first night downstairs singing till gone 11.30. Not hotels fault but not very soundproofed, so if you like the quiet, hopefully you have better neighbours. Breakfast was very tasty again. I had scrambled eggs and toast, which were the best scrambled eggs. Hubby had full English, which he really enjoyed. Definitely stay again. The hotel staff are so lovely. All very welcoming and there for any needs.

April 2025A lovely overnight stay. Superb dinner- the haunch of venison was wonderful. Sociable locals to whom to chat in the bar; a very acceptable Malbec; and terrific staff. Petra was helpful, efficient, and most friendly, and I enjoyed chatting with the young gentleman on bar duty: sadly, I forgot to ask his name. An excellent breakfast rounded off a lovely stay. I shall return!!

March 2025We visited to treat my mum for an afternoon tea for her birthday along with my daughter. I’m sad to say it was dreadful. We waited 20 minutes for a drink. Then the afternoon tea came out and it was shocking! Egg sandwiches and prawn sandwiches on supermarket bread, a Greggs sausage roll cut into 4 pieces, the world’s saddest slice of quiche (plain cheese and tasted like rubber), a lemon tart which had the consistency and taste of cardboard and bitter lemon and chocolate brownie pieces. The only nice thing was the scone but even the jam was cheap and cheerful (no fruit pieces to be seen). We asked for a ham sandwich for my daughter as she didn’t like the egg or prawn (two choices of sandwich isn’t exactly reflective of the price) and we were told we would be charged so didn’t bother. Overall I’d give this place a miss for afternoon tea. The food coming out off the menu looked amazing but they should definitely stop selling these afternoon teas as there’s no love going into them whatsoever. It was a huge disappointment and a massive waste of money.
