In the heart of Glasgow stands the historic Grand Central Hotel.

A much-loved icon in the city. The Grand Central Hotel has a very exciting 2020 ahead. IHG’s new upscale lifestyle brand, voco, is coming to Glasgow following the hotel’s multi-million-pound refurbishment.

Directly adjoining Central Station, the Grand Central hotel will become the first voco in Scotland and is currently refurbishing all 230 bedrooms, with a further 13 rooms being added. Drawing on years of experience in delivering True Hospitality at this historic venue, voco gives people a different choice; a hotel that is reliable enough to depend on, but different enough to be fun.

From the stunning Grand Room with capacity for 400 to the eclectic mix of 21 unique and flexible event rooms, from the beautiful Champagne Bar to the stylish and relaxing bedrooms - everything at The Grand Central Hotel has been beautifully renovated and loving restored to reveal a truly magnificent hotel.

Great breakfast and a comfortable room. Check in was smooth and the staff were incredibly helpful... Even got first hand experience of fire evacuation protocol after a false alarm

We stayed during our honeymoon and the voco couldn't have been more wonderful! A lovely room, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and special. So much so, we changed our plans to stay one more night. Truly appreciated the staff and all of the details they did to make our visit so special. It was our favourite stay during our UK trip. Food was delicious at breakfast. Atmosphere was top notch, adored the proximity to the train station and parking. Rooms were clean and lobby was gorgeous. Thank you, Voco!

I was invited to afternoon tea for a friend's birthday decor is lovely and the service was okay however some simple measures could be made to make it a better experience heat the teapots before filling with hot water as my tea was lukewarm on arrival, only one teabag which is no good if you like strong tea so maybe customers should be asked a preference, I did get a hot top up later on but when I asked for another tea bag i was given Earl Grey instead of regular tea, the miniscule slice of sausage roll was tasty it could have been bigger if the bite size scone was removed as there was already a regular size scone there . The little cake treats were lovely to look at but all much of a sameness creamy with no texture, a choice of white or brown bread should be offered to customers, this was my second visit for afternoon tea and the presentation has not changed since last year, I hope the points I have raised will encourage minor changes to be made to improve customer satisfaction in the future, sorry to say but dissapointing second time around.
