Mulberry House is a hidden gem nestled within the beautiful Essex countryside village of High Ongar, ideally situated just 40 minutes from central London.

Easily accessible - 10 minute drive from Epping train station (central line) / 19 minute drive from Chelmsford station, which can be easily reached from London Liverpool St station /

There are 24 Boutique bedrooms onsite both available in the original Georgian House or in the courtyard rooms, set within the beautiful grounds. Along with the convenience of accommodating free parking for up to 150 vehicles onsite.

Let us take care of everything for you by providing all of the food, beverages, equipment and entertainment – allowing you and your team to relax and enjoy the occasion.

We require 25% deposit upon the point of booking with the remaining balance due two weeks prior to your event date.

The Cedar suite is a room within our Mulberry Suite. It is on the ground floor and has direct access to a private cloakroom and outside lawn area. The room has built in equipment, air conditioning and flooded with natural daylight. It is a great space for meetings, dinners and is also licensed for wedding ceremonies. This room has beautiful vaulted high ceilings, exposed beams with a showpiece, central chandelier.

This place is a hidden gem! We didn’t actually search around for a venue, it was more a happy accident. We found Mulberry House when we booked it as a hotel stay the night before our friends wedding nearby. Whilst having breakfast in the garden room overlooking the stunning grounds, we got chatting to Sammy who invited us for a quick tour. We fell in love with it there and then and a week later we booked our wedding there! The entire team are amazing, they were unbelievably accommodating to our requests (even with a guest swap the day before the wedding!) They really go the extra mile for anything you need. The kitchen team are amazing with dietary requirements, they catered for nut allergies, coeliac, lactose intolerance and vegetarians throughout our day. From canapés, to wedding breakfast, to evening buffet! It didn’t matter what staff member we spoke to, whether is was the wedding team, the catering/bar team, the reception team, or even the night porter! Everyone one was so polite and would stop everything to help you with anything you needed. The venue itself is so well looked after, impeccably clean and tidy, immaculate grounds and the new renovation works are absolutely stunning, yet the venue still has a rustic charm to it. Not to mention all of the rooms smell amazing!! We had so many compliments from our guests on the beautiful venue, lovely staff, the amazing food and the luxurious accommodation. Our wedding was absolutely perfect, we couldn’t have had a better time, which would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the tireless efforts of the fantastic Mulberry House team. We’ll definitely be back for afternoon tea or maybe a romantic night away! We love it there so much!

An amazing venue. A really friendly bunch of people work there. Location beautiful, with plenty of parking. We had the extra special afternoon tea with a glass of prosecco, and there was loads of delicious food. Service excellent. Would I go again, definitely. Thank you so much..

21.02.2025 - Our Wedding Day. I don’t even know where to start. Mulberry House and the team that run it literally made my dreams come true. From booking with Chloe and Nicola, Claire and Jo on the day all way to Angela, Jackie and the lovely reception team these people are out of this world. The venue is absolutely stunning, the renovations have improved on something that was already perfect - I didn't even think that was possible. The food was amazing - canapés to the wedding breakfast. The day ran like clockwork and that’s down to the people there. I cannot thank everyone enough - there aren’t enough words to describe how wonderfully you our day simply perfect. x

Beyond question, historic Mullberry House and its beautiful setting is the perfect wedding location. I visited the House today for a Guides for Brides wedding networking event. Not only is the venue absolutely stunning, the added bonus that makes it really exceptional is the standard of service that we all experienced. As a wedding photographer that serves the luxury market, I am very pleased to say that I get the opportunity to work in and experience first-hand, some of the very best luxury venues globally. As a result, I also get to see and recognise the very highest level of service that is available anywhere and without any doubt whatsoever, these same impeccable standards were offered to all who attended today’s event. With faultless attention to every single detail combined with genuinely friendly and happy staff, we were also treated to a beautiful breakfast designed for every palate. Mullberry House has truly raised the bar and taken the guest experience to another level.
