February 2025Great spot for breakfast. Recommend pre booking of a weekend because breakfast is wild is Edinburgh.

March 2025Booked Edinburgh castle apartments on Bookings.com. Communication from the property relocated us to Hanover street . The room , no5 was fine, however the continual noise from the extractor fan from the pizza shop next door meant we couldn’t sleep. Such a shame.

December 2024Booked here last minute for my fiances birthday night in Edinburgh.. Staff were lovely upon arriving and told us instantly where our room was. A few things here.. The door does not lock internally.. Once you are inside all you have is a shoddy little bolt that keeps the door shut.. Flooring is unstable, so many dips in the flooring and can be quite a nightmare at night. Windows are very old style Edinburgh, so soundproof? Forget about it.. Constant drafts and rattling (Depending on the room you are in) Now to start off I was fairly okay with the room, I purposely booked the jet tub one for my fiance so he could have a nice soak after our dinner and drinks. He was in the bath for not even 15 minutes and I had noticed upon checking on him that there was a leak in the bath, the whole floor was soaked!!! It even went into the hallway. I contacted them immediatly and tried to dry up as much as we could in the meantime however the jets were constantly turning themself on every 5 minutes with no water in the bath which was absolutlely annoying! Upon them arriving the male didn't seem that clued up on anything that was going on, in his defense he did offer us another room on the floor above as it was empty but it was technically a downgrade for what I had paid for... We accepted it since it was 9pm at night and we were winding down to sleep. New room.... Oh my gosh! the noise from the windows was horrendous compared to the other room we were in... Constantly banging as they wouldn't shut properly so we had to shove towels inbetween the cracks to stop the banging every 2 minutes... This definitely did not muffle out the noise though! The racket from outside was 10x worse than our previous room. We finally managed to fall asleep, but was jolted awake at 2am with screaming/screeching and fighting outside - Glass bottles being thrown, ambulances arriving from a man being jumped.. It was like I was standing on the pavement I could hear it that clearly because of these windows. My fiance woke up in such a panic with the scream he smacked his elbow off the sideboard and complately cut all his arm up (They are mirror sideboards with sharp edges) We finally had enough and left our room at 3am and went back home.. I have stayed in the centre of Edinburgh a lot and I have never experienced something like this in my life... And don't even get me started on trying to get a refund or some sort of compensation, I have heard zilch from them about this even with my constant email's. Even Booking.com who I bought this room through can't even get a hold of them. Never again, they ruined my fiances birthday and burned a hole in my pocket in the process
