The Assembly Rooms is a multi-purpose, unique event venue capable of hosting a range of events from music concerts and festivals to business conferences and exhibitions. For more than 200 years the venue has been at the heart of the capital, has hosted both monarchy and celebrity royalty, played its part in two world wars and celebrated artistic excellence.

The Ballroom provides a stunning blank canvas on which you can really let your imagination run free. The room makes a magnificent, light-filled statement from four magnificent chandeliers and a row of grand Georgian windows overlooking Edinburgh’s George Street. Staging is available either via the central stage, which is set into the natural curve of the building, or via modular staging that can be used in a number of creative ways.
Add in additional PA and projection, individual climate control, ISDN2 lines, WIFI throughout and an impressive built-in sound system and we think that we have it all covered. The glory and splendour of this iconic room is never compromised.

Cancellation policy
In the event of the cancellation of the Event or any part thereof by the Hirer, for the avoidance of doubt the Council shall be entitled to (i) retain all payments made or owing to the Council by the Hirer in terms of the Agreement if the Event is cancelled within 21 days of the Get In Time; (ii) retain 75% of all payments made or owing to the Council by the Hirer in terms of the Agreement if the Event is cancelled within 8 weeks of the Get In Time; and (iii) retain 50% of all payments made or owing to the Council by the Hirer in terms of the Agreement if the Event is cancelled more than 8 weeks before the Get In Time.

August 2024See 10,000 Hours NOW! Don’t think, just book it. Theatre, at its best, does more than simply entertain, it takes us somewhere magical where we still believe in the ability to fly and we revel in that world with childlike joy… 10,000 hours does all that and takes it one step further, for when we return, we find ourselves reevaluating the world that we live in, looking at it anew and, if only for a moment, asking ourselves that as kids did we once dream that we could fly and then we awoke and it was a dream, or, did we remember how to fly whilst dreaming and forgot the technique upon awakening? If you want this, book it now.

June 2023We attended the Whisky Festival here. The place is beautiful and was set up perfectly for all the vendors and guests to explore and taste. There was a separate room set up for a masterclass, but it was a bit noisy in there from the crowd outside in the main rooms. The facilities were nice and clean.

August 2024Awesome place, seating laid out so everone gets a good view. I'm 6ft 2 and still had space for my knees. The show Rouge was crazy and weird but great fun. Staff were very well organised for herding all the people in and out ready for the next show
