Stayed two nights (Fri-Sun) £76. Given a larger room - very quiet hotel on visit next to no guests. Bathroom was small bedroom was LARGE. No windows able to open, felt like it needed to be hoovered. Lots of stray hairs on bed, ran very warm in room. Itchy sofa. Dirty windows. Aircon did not work but flashed ALL night long. Hotel has the potential to be amazing if they either modernise it or really lean into the vintage style but it looks neglected currently. Recommend if you’re not fussy, parking was £££

Arrived for a 4 night stay. There were no facilities available and the room and bathroom was not cleaned all the time we were there. The only good part for us was the sea view. Definitely not worth the amount we paid!! Stay elsewhere is my advice as Eastbourne is full of better accomodation !!

A once beautiful hotel reduced to a shabby shell. Cavendish was once the second best hotel (Grand best), but now is awful. Dirty carpets in rooms and common parts. No facilities like a bar open although they say they are. Didn't risk a breakfast. Staff are lovely but their hands are tied by a greedy owner who is only known for buying formerly glorious hotels and letting them rot while providing zero in terms of comfort or service. AVOID.

Cavendish hotel poor customer service I was a guest of room 109. On 31st of December we arrived to Cavendish Hotel Eastbourne reception to book a family sea view room but one of rude receptionist didn’t greet neither did eye contact denied to book a room stating that there is no sea view room vacancies left to book. I never saw someone with this kind attitude especially on front desk. I went out of hotel checked online called on the number given to call for booking and a gentleman on the phone was really helpful and he managed to book me a sea view room for 2adults and 1 child we were excited for our stay but unfortunately the unprofessional rude receptionist again denied to assign a room by saying that the room is not a sea view room and she said I should’ve listened to her as she knew more than the head office gentleman. Receptionist made me so confused double minded so I asked her if it’s possible to view a room before we proceeded with payment she denied that too, when I asked her for refund than she said I am giving you keys but don’t touch anything in the room. Why would I touch anything. This lady definitely doesn’t understand customer service neither a good human being. I got the keys came to check the room it was an average room but not worth of money booked for as it was non refundable booking so I paid for a room, meanwhile when I was doing payment with her colleague she was keep telling her colleague that the place stinks which definitely wasn’t a nice comment to pass while customers were there to check in. I personally felt that the receptionist was either a racist or a mental health patient otherwise she would’ve behaved more professionally. I travel to different countries stayed in different hotels but never encountered someone like her. She is definitely a stain on Britannia Hotels Brand, she is bringing the standards of hotel down. I am sure I am not the only person being discriminated by her she definitely had discriminated others too. I would request to give her a customer training by treating every customer with same care and respect. Unfortunately because of her poor customer service I didn’t enjoyed my stay and would never return back to Cavendish Eastbourne. Some memorable outdated pictures of room where we stayed. Please don’t waste your time money on this hotel instead book Cumberland or Hydro which is a way more better hotels.

We arrived at the hotel later than expected. We asked if we could get a drink and were told the bar was shut. We then asked if we could get a soft drink. We were told to wait and we were left waiting in the lobby for half an hour and no person came back to us. We then asked the night receptionist about where his colleague had gone and he just shrugged. I asked if we could get a soft drink but again was told the bar was shut. We were told it's water or nothing and this is not Las Vegas. We commented that he was very rude and then told me and my friend we were being racist. Absolutely disgraceful attitude from a hotel employee. All we wanted was a drink whether it was alcoholic or soft. The night receptionist needs to go on some form of customer service course. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone to stay at.
