June 2019The hotel, room and the facilities were excellent. The food was a bit basic. Can't remember meeting a host at the venue.

February 2025Spent the weekend at the hotel and booked a Club Room. The bed was amazing very comfortable! The room was well-heated and spotless. The pool area was nice, with a great hot tub, sauna, and steam rooms that did the job. The gym had a good selection of cardio equipment, including a spin bike and rower. The weights room was locked when I went, but it looked well-stocked. The bar was very busy and seemed short-staffed, leading to long waits for food. However, when the food arrived, it was piping hot and tasted great thumbs up for that! Overall, a great stay with just a small issue at the bar. Would definitely return!

December 2024What can I say, the customer service side of the business is superb. The restaurants in the hotel is great. Good food. Can't complain. The front office staff are polite and really helpful. However, housekeeping does let them down. The room is tired and lack basic cleaning. I don't know why the management is letting this fabulous investment to get run down. Housekeeping is the backbone of any hotel. Customers will spend 60 - 80% of the time in their rooms. If the rooms are not clean, then there's a big problem. My room was very dusty and not clean. Dust everywhere. Soundproofing was non existent. This hotel can do better and stand out from the rest. Significant improvement is needed with regards to the rooms or else they run the risk of becoming another version of Whetherspoons. Again, the front of staff are trying their best but housekeeping and maintenance is letting them down.

February 2025Stayed here over the Valentine’s Day weekend. Just after we collected our keys, the lady behind us informed reception that her van had been broken into in their car park. To which the receptionist said they don’t have much working CCTV in the car park and couldn’t really help. Very dated decor and no sound proofing between the rooms. My pregnant wife was kept awake by next door playing drill music till 3am. If I hadn’t got this room in the winter sale for £50 per night it would get one star. I would strong advise avoiding this hotel. I’ll be going for a premier inn instead. They’re much safer, quieter and most days cheaper.

February 2025Do not book this hotel!! I stayed here for two nights in January with my partner and son. It was freezing outside and our room had no working heating. We tried to tell someone about this, but having arrived in the evening there were no staff on the desk to speak to. The hotel’s website directs you to an online chat function but that also had no answer. We bundled clothes on and got through the night (though I still have chilblains from my attempt to warm up with a bath - where the temperature is either cold or scalding). The next day we spoke to reception who said they would send maintenance up and some heaters. Neither came. I had to ask THREE seperate times before we got two heaters to slightly warm the room up for our second night. There was apparently no possibility of us moving to a room with working heating. I checking out I requested a refund for our first night, given it had zero heating. Reception agreed but since the overhead no refund and no response to my number outs attempts to contact The Village. This place is beyond shocking - don’t risk it!
