March 2025This was my first spa stay but I’ve done 2 spa mornings before. I won’t lie I was a bit worried after reading some recent reviews but it was honestly really lovely. Room: I didn’t pay extra to guarantee a refurbished room but I did request it when doing online check in, and they gave us one! It was so nicely decorated and bright. Super comfy bed too. Tip: either chance it at check in or pay the extra £15 for a new room as it appears the old rooms are not as nice Food: had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel and both delicious. Spa hotels are generally more expensive but the quality and portion sizes were good. Tip: book dinner at 6pm. By 7pm it is completely packed and the servers do their best but can be slow due to number of guests. Spa: same as my previous visits though the steam room didn’t feel very warm or steamy, sauna is quite small but we managed fine. We had a package so the slippers, robe and towel are included but note if you only have a spa pass you have to pay a £5 non refundable fee Service: great service, kindly let us extend our check out till 12pm so we could pack and check out after the spa instead of rushing before Overall really nice trip not too far from home!

February 20254.5 stars. Had great deal of spa, use of the gym, food and sleep over. Room was nice, clean but parts of the hotel need a bit of care and attention. Food was really good! Spa was nice, gym was in the old golf function room. Again the lodge area needs some care and attention but doesn’t spoil experience. Only real criticism would be drinks are overly expensive and I don’t think it reflects when food was reasonably priced. Overall definitely recommend.

March 2025My girlfriend and I stayed here for valentines week, with a voucher we got on Black Friday which was an amazing deal. Saying this, at the time the massages were also on a good deal, so a portion of the stars go to a good deal which most of you probably won’t get! Pros: Amazing location and buildings. Peacock wandering around. Lovely food. Massage was great. Cons: Heating in the room was poor. Jacuzzis inside were closed at the time. Outside pool was filthy, needs a better filtration system. Inside pool was okay but the room was cold. Overall, I would stay here again on a good deal but would not pay full asking price for a room, spa and meal.

March 2025Groupon voucher for a two course meal. Food was faultless. Only downside were the amazing staff who were absolutely rushed off their feet. We only counted 3 staff who were waiting on but the place was absolutely packed. Shrigley Hall you need to put more staff on. Even with a smile on their faces it was apparent they were trying so hard to keep up
