The museum is a lovely place to visit. We enjoyed looking at the fine art paintings and collections in the gallery. The gift shop has got many interesting items to buy as presents 🎁

The National Museum of Wales in Cardiff is perfect for a kid-friendly day out. With engaging displays on geology, natural history, dinosaurs, sea life, and a fascinating fossil swamp, there’s plenty to explore. The interactive educational areas are a hit with children, and the art galleries on the top floor are equally impressive. The museum also features a restaurant, shop, and a small café, offering a good variety of food, drinks, and cakes. Unfortunately, 2 out of 3 lifts were out of order during our visit, making it difficult for disabled guests to access the toilets and restaurant below ground. However, the helpful and knowledgeable staff did their best to assist. Overall, it’s a great place to visit for both families and art lovers alike!

The National Museum was a brilliant day out. Knowing they had dinosaurs was enough to bring the kids but the displays and exhibits on offer were incredible. I appreciated the timeline style flow of displays, from geology, early life to dinosaurs and early humans in Wales. My kids loved the dinosaurs, animals, volcanos, and interactive parts. I was a bit sad to not be able to control two toddlers enough to see all the art upstairs.
