February 2025We visited for afternoon tea and the spread was phenomenal. Nice, hot coffee and the sandwiches, scones and treats were all fresh, different and tasted lovely. The waitress serving us 08/02/2025 was fantastic, pleasant with all the customer and very professional and keep everything running smoothly, even when it got quite busy. Second time coming when visiting Aberdeen and it won't be our last.

February 2025Just back from a lovely stay, warm and friendly welcome. Great location for His Majesty Theatre, and 2 min walk to Union Street, 5 min walk to Bus and train stations. There was a definite slope in the floor of our room, but it was clean and didn’t put us off! The staff were excellent giving the hotel a lovely positive, friendly and inviting environment. Breakfast was hot, tasty and a great selection and nothing was too much bother from our server Malatl, such a beautiful soul. Benjamin on reception, gives first class service at all times. A pleasure to have been served by them both. Would most definitely stay again.

March 2025Arrived to find that the lift was out of order, but thankfully, we'd been accommodated on the 1st floor because of this. The first room allocated was not good, very dark with frosted windows and a bit of a struggle to find the light switch, nowhere near the door, also crack in plaster/wallpaper that you could fit your hand into. Spoke with receptionist who kindly offered choice of another 2 rooms. Took the first room as it was so much brighter and had a window without frosted glass. Sadly, it had not one drop of hot water until after 9am the next morning. Hair washed in cold water, not great. Breakfast was buffet style and suffered from the common problem with this style of breakfast in that the hot food was not hot, barely lukewarm. There was, however a good selection of continental style items. Disappointed there weren't any rowies, foo nae? Staff were all pleasant and the location of the hotel is perfect.

March 2025Avoid this place. Currently staying in a deluxe room and there is a flimsy door to the adjoining room. You can hear the guests next door whisper. If only that’s all they were doing…… In addition, absolutely zero soundproofing from the ancient windows. No point in them existing which isn’t ideal when you’re facing union street on a Saturday night. Hotel staff provided no solutions when this was discussed after check in. I asked for a refund which would allow me the time to find another hotel but they didn’t get back to me. Also, room is dated and amenities extremely basic.
