Excellent food, especially breakfast. Good clean rooms nice size and well maintained. Hotel is traditional with a curious history, surrounded by enormous trees and very quiet despite being near the town centre. The gardens would be ideal for wedding photos. Good to see it has a future as a hotel, great potential, rather than the rumours of it's demise. Hopefully this will enable function bookings to pick up and further encourage its success. Staff were diligent and efficient, especially the waiting staff and in particular Sheila, the breakfast waitress, who made a special effort to interact with the guests to make them feel welcome. Salt of the earth and a great asset to this hotel.

Great location. I went in there for an afternoon tea with my wife and had a very good experience. The staff is very welcoming. They helped to arrange afternoon tea at a very short notice which I really appreciated. There were a few varieties of tea that were out of stock but other than that everything was fine. Food: the Scones were very nice and I just loved them. This was a Christmas special menu so paid £5 extra per person. The other items were also nice. They also did vegan sandwiches for us which again was a very nice gesture from them. Thank you and I hope to visit the place again.

Had a company meal here. I had last been to the Lismoyne in the late 80s / early 90s. Service is good and friendly. Parts of the hotel are quiet grand. I still find it to be quite dated though generally and the vegetarian / vegan food options are very limited / poor I would say. Nice staff, but I think the hotel has some catching up to do in some areas to be competitive and up to date against other options available, especially as a location for a vegetarian meal.
