Overlooking one of Edinburgh’s prettiest private garden squares, Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel consists of seven inter-connecting Georgian townhouses in the heart of the New Town, a UNESCO world heritage site.

Our beautiful internal courtyard, The Garden — an oasis of calm with a glass roof — is now open from breakfast through to the wee hours. Lovely staff and large, well-appointed, and very comfy room. Situated around the corner from to Prince Street, there are gorgeous shops and restaurants nearby, plus the excellent choices offered on-site . The perfect place to stay in Edinburgh

Beautiful hotel with exceptional service. The hotel is in a great location just outside the busy streets of Edinburgh. The staff are extremely welcoming and accommodating. The service at breakfast was excellent and the rooms very clean and good sizes.

Fantastic stay. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Big shout out to Ruby Harris (on reception), David Nicol (concierge) and Gavin Stirling. The hotel has a welcoming atmosphere, clean and comfy. The room are spacious and well thought out, with refreshments and snacks. They have a huge menu of items ‘just in case you’ve forgotten…’ . For me that sets it apart from other similar rated hotels. The restaurant, Baba, was incredible, food amazing, service exemplary. The only little downside was the price of breakfast (£30 p.p), extortionate! Would recommend the Rose street cafe around the corner !!

I arrived early and my luggage was accommodated, no questions. I toured the city and was a given tips on where to go, the concierge is is genuinely happy to help. It helps that the famous castle is within walking distance alongside quiet gardens. The hotel, it’s dining areas, it’s bars, everything is absolute comfort, quiet service and attention to detail that I haven’t seen in a long time. I look forward to the next occasion when I can spend in Edinburgh and will definitely stay here.

Exceptional Experience! From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed by Zoe, who was extremely helpful and even arranged an early check-in as our room was ready. The entire hotel staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making our stay truly enjoyable. This hotel is exceptionally well-run, with thoughtful touches that set it apart—like the complimentary drinks at the bar between 5-6 PM, which was a fantastic bonus! The breakfast offers a great variety, and the restaurant serves outstanding food throughout the day. The bed was also very comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. You’ve earned a loyal customer, and I look forward to staying with you again on my next visit to town!
