A wonderfully relaxed and stylish room to eat a very lovely meal! We had a perfect evening with lovely service as well. Will look forward to our return visit.

Back for the second time and just as wonderful as last time. Firstly , Hamish and Sue are so welcoming and helped to make our stay really comfortable. This hotel is spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, with a bed in room 8 you just don't want to get out of on a morning! Breakfast is always fresh, hot and tasty, using only good quality ingredients. We had dinner, this visit and can highly recommend it. The waitress couldn't do enough for us and the food, again, delicious. We'll be back!! Thank you .

My husband and I had a fabulous honeymoon at No: 11. When we arrived, we were offered a complementary drink to celebrate before being shown to our Georgian suite (No: 18) by a friendly member of staff who then gave us some recommendations for places to eat nearby. Each day, we had a fantastic breakfast, again served by friendly and attentive staff, and had our stunning room cleaned. Although there was no air con, we had a powerful fan and a smaller desk fan to help keep us cool – it's a listed building after all, so there are some restrictions. Lots of snacks and tea/coffee etc. provided too and a little fridge for keeping drinks cold. It's also just a short walk from the centre and the tram stop on McDonald Road. A big thank you to the whole team for giving us some great memories.

Lovely hotel close to the city centre, but on a quiet street, meaning no city noise at night. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. We had our evening meal and breakfast there and the food was just delicious. A happy stay and hopefully we'll be back.

The room was beautiful, quiet, and warm. The bed was super comfy. The location is very quiet, so no noise whatsoever during the night, but a short walk from tram and bus stops and 20-30 minute walk from the city center and old town. Slight minus for the high price relative to the room quality, as there's no a/c, toilet sink was too small for washing your hands, and our shower didn't provide any cold water.

An absolutely perfect stay! We went for our honeymoon and were very well looked after. The food, both breakfasts and dinners, was incredible. The room was lovely, having all the amenities you could need and the bed was very comfortable. Overall a great place to stay - quiet enough and more away from the hustle and bustle but still within walking distance for attractions etc. Would definitely recommend! We will be back!

This small, intimate brasserie was perfect for a quiet Sunday lunch. We were very impressed with the high standard of food and there was something on the concise menu to suit all tastes. Staff are polite and efficient. Will definitely return.

Lovely hotel, very clearly independent. Located within a comfortable walk of the Royal Mile and other tourist hotshots Friendly helpful staff, pleasant cafe/restaurant/bar Rooms were spacious, however lacked some thought in design. The bathroom door had a gap of approx 1 inch all the way around, with frosted glass and ANOTHER inch of clear glass. 2 inch boarder that's completely transparent and direct eye line with the toilet. Significant lack of privacy. A better fitting door would make a world of difference. The extractor fan didn't seem to work, less of an issue as a guest but may have a longer term impact for the owners. Pleasant bathroom and shower, however lacked towel rail space (1 rail for two bath towels and a hand towel meant little drying space) Also no dressing table, we were able to repurpose the bedside table as a temporary fix, but something permanent would have been preferred. The bed was excellent, very comfy and spacious. Overall, for the cost I would recommend it, just take headphones and avert your eyes for any bathroom privacy!
