Colchester Town Hall, a stunning Grade I listed Edwardian building, provides a fantastic venue for your wedding celebrations. Built in 1902, the Town Hall is steeped in history and is located at the heart of Colchester, Britain’s oldest recorded town.
The Town Hall provides beautiful backdrops for all of your important wedding photographs. The exquisite stained glass windows, oil painted portraits and impressive interiors contribute to the grand and elegant atmosphere of the venue.
The splendid décor flows throughout the building and into the rooms, where the possibilities are endless to host your celebrations. Our largest function room, the Moot Hall, is the perfect setting for your reception, where you can comfortably sit 160 guests for a wedding breakfast. Our other suites include the unique Council Chamber which is simply stunning with its stained glass windows and ornate painted ceiling; this is ideal for any wedding ceremony. If tradition is more your style, the Grand Jury Room is the perfect alternative. The stunning space is sophisticatedly decorated in period colours and style and boasts a grand collection of beautiful oil paintings and lavish décor. Drinks receptions and smaller wedding breakfasts can also be enjoyed in this room.
The Town Hall is ideally placed for your guests with a central location, easy access to public transport and ample free parking. The venue is accessible to all with disabled facilities and access to every room, plus hearing induction loops in some rooms.

Lots of history within and a practical Register Office. Nice staircase for internal photography.

Excellent for weddings. Register was excellent. Made everybody feel involved. One of the best venues for a wedding I have come across.
