We had afternoon tea this week and it was excellent. Staff were very attentive and the service was very good. There was a wide choice of sandwiches and cakes with plenty of options for beverages and of course the fizz! It is a very nice setting and a relaxed and very enjoyable experience. Will definitely be going back in the new year.

What an experience. From walking over the footbridge into the luscious grounds that are home to a majestic building which is decorated tastefully for the upcoming Christmas holidays, opening the door to what seems like another world that welcomes you to take a step back in time with beautifully furnished rooms. Combe Abbey has it all. I was greeted upon arrival by welcoming staff members, happy to answer my questions. I stayed here overnight with my work colleagues as this location was chosen for our annual Christmas conference and it did not disappoint. The food was outstanding and staff were very helpful and friendly. My room was simply stunning. The furnishings were beautiful and all I can say about the comfort of the bed is wow. I slept very peacefully and very deeply. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I would love to go back on a personal level next year to have a longer stay.

Spent one night for our anniversary and was underwhelmed when arrived to find place rammed with a wedding and convention and birthday bash plus usual daily footfall. Check in was simple via kiosk and avoided the cue at reception. Room was lovely and clean and spacious and the restaurant was nice with great service and quality. We had soft drinks and e courses came to 135 so not to pricy but worth it for quality and service. Hotel is a magical space and having grown up in the area was nice to stay there.

Like staying in a National Trust property. If you're in to "contemporary" and McDonald's type hotels this is not the place for you. If you want piece, quiet and classic atmosphere try here. The food in the Garden Restaurant is very good if pricey and choice limited although room service is very reasonable. I've added some photos I took before I noticed the no photography sign....

Great historical setting. Communal areas were a bit busy and the armchairs were very low compared with tables so it was not easy for eating or playing cards. The restaurant food was good but at the price, portions of fish and meat were a bit mean. Breakfast very good. Staff helpful.
