A great variety of art works, gallery was well laid out. And it was free to visit on Sunday (27 Oct) Ground floor is always free but on a regular occasion you may need to pay to view the gallery on the first floor and up.

Spectacular gallery in beautiful building. I loved all current exhibitions, in particular "As we Rise: Photography from the Black Atlantic," "Anastasia Samoylova: Adaption," "Aneesa Dawoojee: March of the Hummingbirds," "Jack Kabangu: Childhood Dreams," and "Philip Colbert: The Battle for Lobsteropolis". "As we Rise" is like a who is who of black photography. The Anastasia Samoylova show goes well with her current show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (Floridas: Anastasia Samoylova and Walker Evans). The influence of Walker Evans (1903-1975) is also clearly visible in her London exhibition. Danish-African artist Jack Kabangu (born 1996) is fabulous too, somewhat reminiscent of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Philip Colbert's art reminded me of Kenny Scharf (born 1958), as currently on view at the Brant Foundation in New York.

Interesting exhibitions; the gallery space overall is quite small compared to other similar places in London, but that could be a good thing if you want to take your time and look at everything with intent, while also not spending a whole day there. the staff were super sweet and the shop had some good finds too
