A penthouse private dining room with a stunning balcony overlooking the river Thames and central London skyline.

Swan’s light and airy Balcony Room is an exclusive venue in London with remarkable views of the iconic riverside. Floor to ceiling French windows open onto the private balcony with its backdrop of St Paul’s Cathedral, the Thames, and the Globe theatre.

This unique space has lift access, its own private bar and cloakroom and can accommodate up to 70 people for a sit down affair, or up to 120 standing guests.

The stylish Balcony Room, with its elegant, panelled green walls, statement chandelier and abundant natural light, can be hired for private event celebrations, corporate meetings, and dinners.
The long wooden table – handmade from an oak tree that fell in the Great Storm of 1987 – is just the thing for board meetings and convivial private lunches or dinners. On the walls are twenty prints of Henri Matisse’s ‘Jazz’. These brightly coloured pictures were originally intended as covers for French art magazine ‘Verve’ and were inspired by the circus and the theatre.

Impossibly romantic – and with our Shakespearean links, how could it not be? – the space is also licensed for weddings.

Got a walk-in for afternoon tea on a Saturday. Lovely front of house staff kept the wait time as low as possible (it was crazy busy). I wish I'd gone with a friend to order different afternoon teas. I chose the classic and was left very happy and fat afterwards. I had views of the river, watched my Korean drama, and stuffed my face. Excellent scones, good sandwiches, nice savouries. Can't eat another a scone for a while, though. Yes, it's touristy, but honestly who cares? The place was packed with people who looked and sounded like they were having a great time. I'm taking a star off for the service because I felt the upstairs energy didn't quite match the vibe downstairs. But overall, it is an absolute treat. I'd go back, recommend it, and try the gentleman's tea next time. Thanks, guys!

Beautiful restaurant with proper high tea that feels luxurious. Our server was friendly and tried to make us feel comfortable. Beautiful view of the Thames. Though it doesn’t feel very ‘London’. But overall it was a great experience and would recommend.

It was a nice afternoon tea, however while my food was on the table already I had to wait for my tea and chase them up. Overall a nice experience we could also refill the plate so we were more than satisfied at the end. In terms of food quality, it was good but not the best. Maybe to serve the scones warm would be a nice touch.

I was brought here for my birthday afternoon tea and had a lovely time. The room is beautiful and we luckily got a seat beside the window so had a gorgeous view of the river. The food itself was nice, not amazing but I’m not expecting that from an afternoon tea, the experience as a whole was really nice, lovely to escape busy life for a couple of hours. Go hungry, you’ll leave rolling out of there! The scones with the ham and clotted cream were a particular highlight!

Our first ever afternoon tea experience and it was a decent one 🫖 Made a reservation for 2 on a Monday at 3:30pm and came a little early but the table was ready 👍🏻 🫖 Ordered 2 classic sets, alongside an English tea and an Earl grey tea - both were decent and wasn’t dry as we feared some teas were. Food was good in general, loved that the scones were warmed up, and was great with the butter and jam. I did mark the service at 2 stars as we weren’t asked if we needed water, nor if we wanted a refill of food or tea during our 90 minutes there, while we see other tables being looked after and getting refills - totally overlooked our table for one reason or another although we did order 2 sets unlike some who had 1 set across 2 diners. Good food and ambience in general, but just note their service may waver from table to table.
