Nestled in the heart of old Westminster, in between Westminster Abbey and St James’s Park, is the Old Queen Street Cafe — the home of good food and good conversation.
Situated down a quiet side street, this British Brasserie looks forward to welcoming you for breakfast or lunch, coffee or cocktail, or a delicious dinner. Chef Elliot Spurdle (ex Wolseley, Delaunay) has developed a menu based on the finest seasonal ingredients from around Britain, at affordable prices.
Taking inspiration from traditional London cafes, but with the highest standard of food and comfort, OQS emerged from the heritage of the area. With political magazine UnHerd upstairs, and the Palace of Westminster just over the road, heritage is everywhere — look out for Winston Churchill’s floorboards from the Old War Office, rows of books old and new, and a unique collection of Martin Parr photographs of English life.
This beautiful heritage building has some amazing versatile spaces to rent on the upper floors. With capacity for 40 seated and up to 100 standing, the venue spaces are perfect for intimate sit-down dinners, business events with panel setups or weddings, birthday and work parties. Plus, the experienced OQS team can help you to create and deliver the perfect event for you and your guests.
We have Christmas packages available - please enquire with our Events Team!

January 2025What an amazing place First of all, I'd like talk about the frindly Samantha. She is the one who will welcome you when you arrive at the cafe. She is so lovely and kind. Then, I'd like to talk about the food. It's amazing. Me and my sister ordered Welsh Rerebit and the dish was delicious. The place is cozy and we felt very happy there. I think this cafe is a must-visit in London.

December 2024It is amazing place a little bit a side from very main street. My food was delicious, maybe spinach could be less sour but overall incredible experience,. It is a pity I do not have two stomacks😁 I would try everything here. The stuff is very caring and nice. Highly recommended!

November 2024Had a well-cooked large-portion full English breakfast in the cafe. The mushroom is juicy and the poached egg is well boiled. The whole dish is slightly too savory though. Will not recommend the Chai latte as it is quite pale in flavour.
