The intimate 60s inspired night club, The Scotch of St James, was home to some of the most famous rock’n’roll royalty, seeing the likes of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who and many more go through the rustic black wooden door which to this day, still remains. Legend has it, it was also the backdrop for John Lennon and Yoko Ono's first encounter. The Scotch can also claim rights to an exclusive first performance of a young gentleman known as Jimi Hendrix, who on his first visit to the club decided to plug himself into the sound system and deliver an impromptu performance!
Just a stone’s throw away from the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly Circus and a few minutes’ walk from Green Park, The Scotch occupies a central, yet hidden location tucked away in Mason’s Yard.
The venue hosts renowned parties from birthdays to networking, makes for a unique filming and photoshoot location, and is a prestigious space for product launches and promotional events. Both floors can be adapted to meet specific event requirements, with options for private screenings, dry hire, Christmas events, Media/TV locations, group meetings, pre/post dinner events, live music showcase, team building events and pop ups.
The space is set across two floors with a total capacity of 200 standing, with an incredible sound system set up for all audio requirements and lighting to compliment any mood. The upper level boasts a well-stocked, attractively lit copper bar, accommodating up to 80 guests for a speak-easy standing reception.
Descend the staircase into the basement and you will find the decadent nightclub, with lavish seating and private tables surrounding the LED dance floor, DJ and stage area, accommodating up to 120 guests.
The Scotch team is dedicated to building on its illustrious heritage as a culturally significant meeting point, aiming to host the city's most relevant and exciting events and personalities in music, fashion, film and the arts.

November 2024Absolutely do not go to this place—ever! The bouncers were unbelievably rude and aggressively denied entry to me and my friends just because two people in our group were wearing sneakers (which is funny because there were multiple groups of others exiting the club wearing sneakers). We talked to the head promoter and that hypocrite was also wearing white sneakers… The bouncers were harassing us and honestly it was borderline racist. Imagine at least 6 tall men above 6’0 talking down and telling 5 girls to be quiet and leave…. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs—find somewhere that actually knows the meaning of respect and inclusivity.
