Helgi's is a rock bar and live music venue in the heart of East London, uniquely decorated with a dark and psychedelic atmosphere. The building has been here since the 1800s, a part of old Hackney, as can be seen across several rooms filled with character.
The venue has been used for talks, film screenings, seminars, markets, launch parties, filming, photoshoots, exhibitions, and regularly features live bands and vinyl DJ's to packed rooms. As well as the main bar area at the front, there is a large private back room with its own bar and a maze like route to the toilet and washroom area, which is its own unique experience. Any of the rooms or the entire space can lend itself to whatever event or creative venture you have in mind.
18+ only.
***Bookings available from Sunday to Wednesday***
Full PA system, backline (drums, guitar amps, microphones), film projector, DVD player, vinyl DJ decks and mixer are available for use at extra cost.
The private back room of Helgi's, features it's own bar, sound system, removable furniture and where many varied events have been hosted, such as talks, film screenings, launches, birthday parties, markets, fashion shows and much more. Live music acts often perform in this space, with full PA and backline available.

March 2025A very unique and cool little rock bar. Occult decor, good vibes and heavy music for those who like it. Friendly staff, good prices for London and a generally very welcoming, diverse crowd and atmosphere. The owner was a singer in a touring band, so having a room for gigs is giving back to the music community. Something London needs more of in light of other venue closures and the sanitisation of the capital. Often see other musicians in there relaxing, with DJs spinning a varied selection of popular and obscure bands and some liver smashing tasty cocktails and other assorted drinks. Always had a good time when found myself in the area. I've never had any food there so cannot fairly score it, so please take this into account with my review. I hope Helgi's is with us for generations to come, so others can see and play shows, meet new people and enjoy a slice of different in a city that is slowly becoming a slew of coffee shops and boredom.

March 2025The best bar i've ever been in all my entire life. Record playing...cheap food and drinks, and the magic in there is like nothing in life. Thank you very much dough! Hope to come back there. Long life to HELGI's
