I took a short trip up the Tames to meet with Maddie and Polly who run The King’s Head in Teddington, the most versatile of White Brasserie’s venues for private hire. It may say ‘pub’ above the door, but think again, this is a super smart venue, just a short trip out of London, and perfect for client entertaining, team away days, presentations, meetings and celebratory dinners.

Polly: The King’s Head is really homely and welcoming, but we’ve set things up to create a dynamic and versatile set of spaces. Up at the bar, you’ll get the buzzy atmosphere, yet just around the corner, you’ll find the cosy ‘snug’ area. The bar area can be hired in its entirety for birthdays, funeral receptions, engagement parties and of course Xmas (50 seated, 70 standing)… or separately just book the snug (10 seated, 15 standing) for a small meeting, corporate lunch or intimate birthday party.
Maddie: The King’s Head is richly decorated and you can expect to witness our chefs at work through the open kitchen, adding a little theatre for both formal and informal bookings. We can cater for up to 150 seated, so it’s great for larger celebrations… wedding receptions, Xmas dinners and anniversary lunches. There’s a raised section in the brasserie that has a pulldown projector and also curtains that can be drawn to transform into a semi-exclusive meeting or event space, for a more intimate or professional ambience.
Polly: We’re home to the largest pub garden in the area which our regulars love. We use the garden in The King’s Head in combination with the inside for any event… team building activities, drinks receptions… Last summer we hosted our first ever beer festival which was made tremendous use of the outside space, bespoke to the event. The combination of indoor and outdoor space gives us great flexibility to adapt the event based on the latest British weather.
- What’s the best thing about the King’s Head?
Maddie: We ‘re very focused on our guests, it’s in our DNA to adapt and accommodate their needs. We’ll bend over backwards to meet the requirements of any event or celebration.
Polly: Confidently, and proudly, I’d say it’s our team that sets us apart. We’re all incredibly hardworking and enjoy giving each guest the best experience possible. We spend a lot of time on teamwork to deliver a fantastically efficient and enjoyable service, no matter what the event. Guests can expect a warm welcome, slick and speedy service and be looked after from start to finish. The guys are proud to work where they do and that absolutely shines through on each visit!
- Why should corporate clients choose you over a ‘more traditional’ meeting venue?
Polly: The King’s Head provides a winning combination for any meeting: the informality of a traditional pub setting, truly personable and professional service, the offer of drinks packages and bespoke menus, plus all of the basic tools required for a meeting at your disposal. The raised area in our brasserie can be curtained off and there’s a pull-down projector for presentations of up to 30 seated and meetings of up to 40 seated. We have a snug area for smaller, cosier meetings. As the saying goes- “the best decisions are made in the pub, not in the boardroom”.
