The hospitality industry is facing an unprecedented challenge, and difficult times lay ahead for hard-working people in our sector. At VenueScanner, we are committed to supporting our customers and continuing to do the thing we are best at: matching event organisers with brilliant spaces all over the UK.
Our priorities for managing the COVID-19 threat are:
- To help organisers rearrange events that might need to be postponed or cancelled. Cancellations are disastrous for any given venue, and for the bookers themselves who might have been planning a wedding or large-scale corporate function for months – if not years – it can be heartbreaking. This is not lost on us. We will do all that we can to support you. Call us on 02034337561 if you’d like our advice.
FAQs – For Organisers:
Q) Will we be able to postpone our event?
A) VenueScanner is encouraging all venues to allow organisers to postpone their event for between three and six months, free of charge. However, each venue has its own policy, so you will need to check with the individual place in question. We are happy to help you negotiate or to find a new venue.
Q) Have venues changed their cancellation policy?
A) Some venues have waived their fees, some have implemented cancellation policies and some have not. Ask the venue individually or if you want help from us, just let us know and we will get in touch with the venues for you.
Q) Can I still make a booking at a venue for later in the year?
A) Yes. While some venues have temporarily closed after Boris Johnson’s address to the country on April 16, many remain open for business. Even venues that have shut their doors for the time-being will still be taking bookings for later in the year, when the virus threat has eased. Venues on our platform accepted in excess of 500 booking requests last week, and we are predicting a hike in September summer parties and autumnal team away days.
