The Liverpool Medical Institution (LMI), founded in 1779, is among the oldest medical societies worldwide. For almost 200 years, this Grade II* Listed building has been the hub for the Merseyside medical community and is primarily known for its medical library. The Institution has adapted to the changing times and now offers conference and meeting spaces, including a gorgeous 19th century lecture theatre in the heart of the city. Delifonseca provides award-winning catering services, and the venue is conveniently located near rail links and offers complimentary parking.
We have three adjoining dining areas: the Oak Study, Gallery and Dining Room, complete with a small bar off the Dining Room. Relax in the refined atmosphere of our historic medical portrait galleries, lit with impressive glazed ceiling domes. The available dining space can be extended into the adjacent Orthopaedic Library if more space is required. One or more of these areas can be booked for refreshments/lunch during your meeting or conference, and can also be used to display poster boards as seen in some of the photographs.
The hire charge is £75 per hire for each space (i.e. £150 for 2 spaces or £225 for all 3).

I visited during the famous Liverpool NeuroID course. It is a veritable museum filled with curiosities and rich tapestries of medical science. Good facilities for lecturing. The seats could be a little more comfortable though!

Physical space: charming. 9/10 like forest cafe on steroids Food decent : 8/10 had the picanha, cremoso, berenjena, ensalada amazónica, tuna laqueado, salmon tiradito, ha machi, aguachile, empanadas, tequeños, pastel de choclo And entraña. Service poor: 2/10. Took 25 minutes to get a glass of water. Asked three times. Each time asked flirtily what else I would order. On my third attempt the waitress looked visibly frustrated. Generally difficult to get staff's attention. Friend arrived in cycle gear. Knew to get changed (dress code) but was initially categorically denied access by security and then accompanied to not only the toilet but the cubicle. Door staff were friendly to me. Bill came to 95 per person for food (5 of us) and an extra 60 for drinks for those who drank. Value for money 3/10
