I've been to barge east twice, once for their Sunday roast and once for dinner and would highly recommend! Super interesting dishes with unique flavour combinations and great sustainability concept. The restaurant is in a boat and it's super cool to see, how the space has been used to deliver a full restaurant experience. The service is very nice, giving lots of recommendations and being very attentive. The restaurant is dog friendly. The food choices always offer unique options that you won't find elsewhere and the changing menu makes it very interesting to come back regularly. If you are looking for a super cozy restaurant with interesting and new food options and a very friendly and relaxing atmosphere, then this is the perfect restaurant!

Fantastic! My tastebuds were happy with this restaurant. A beautiful gem in Hackney Wick with yummy food. But before getting into the food, the restaurant ambiance was so beautiful and the fact it was all inside of a boat! Wow. I had a good portion of everything, my favourites were the fried sardines, potato croquettes, braised ox cheek & fried spicy brussel sprouts . However the rest of the food was still so delicious but those blew my mind😅 This place is perfect for a date night, or just any form of an intimate dinner 🍽️

Myself and my friend dined at Barge East on Friday 12th January and it was top notch. The food was all delicious. The service from Fraser, our waiter, was exceptional. The cocktails were piquant and the wine delectable. For the standard of food and service, combined with the quirky setting of the barge, I'd also say it was good value for money. 5* would recommend. Excuse the oyster shell pic, I only managed to take a snap after we had gobbled them all! But they came with mignonette sauce, lemon and tabasco, again very fresh and tasty.

4* only purely because the service was so so slow. The food was 5/5 - absolutely amazing, really imaginative, one of the best roasts I’ve had out, sticky toffee pudding out of this world. All of the meats were perfectly cooked, the pork melted in the mouth, beef the perfect medium, lamb just pink. Starters were mainly fishy or veggie which suited us and balanced out the meaty main. There was just one option for veggie roast which was an onion tart so there’s better places for veggies but if not then I’d highly recommend. We were sat right opposite the pass and the chef was really calm despite how busy it was, excellent team! Great choice of beers. Such a nice atmosphere downstairs on the boat. We booked via firsttable on a Sunday arvo so it was very reasonable. But I’m not quite sure why they’re on firsttable because they were so so busy! We had 3 courses and it took around 2.5 hours, which considering the dessert was very quick seemed a longgg time. Really recommend but if we were paying full whack I would’ve been a bit miffed at the service!

Very pleased to celebrate New Year’s Eve with friends here. Cozy ambiance. Delicious 7-course menu, even for vegans like me. Wine was amazing as well! A bit pricey £85 (food) plus £49 (for wine) but all worth it. The only concern we had that night was the dj’s rather monotonous music at their after party tent.
