Hawksmoor Guildhall, the much-loved steakhouse Hawksmoor can be found on Basinghall Street in what's rumoured to be the world's first steakhouse in The City. The restaurant is 2 minutes away from Bank Station.
The Sublime Society Room
A room dedicated to the actors, artists and songsmiths who founded the Sublime Society of Beefsteaks back in 18th Century London. Part members’ club, part secret society, this boho group met weekly to consume vast quantities of beefsteak and booze – just punch, port or porter, no fancy French wines allowed. Before long, everyone wanted in. Even the Prince Regent (soon-to-be King George IV).
The Private Dining Room in Hawksmoor Guildhall, a short walk from Bank, boasts a 24 person dining table centered in an elegant wooden panelled room which pays tribute to the medieval history of The City of London, making this a unique space for a range of events; from dinner & lunches to large gatherings of friends and family. The discrete audio visual equipment, including a 80” screen also makes the space suitable for meetings and presentations.
Cocktail receptions are available on arrival, there are three specially designed sharing menus to choose from, which offer a chance to sample a range of Hawksmoor classic dishes, our team can also suggest wine pairings that are tailored to your choice of menu.

We had bone barrow to start with, and then 500g chateaubriand (medium) with creamed spinach and chips to share. A good amount for two girls, we were full. Nice restaurant and good atmosphere.

Maybe the best steak I've ever had in my life. This place rules. It's better than the Burrough location. The English lettuce and herb salad is top notch. Mac and cheese rules. Ribeye is top 3 in the game. Anywhere. Go here.

made reservations online for Sunday roast.. approaching the restaurants it seemed like a ghost town and even looking through the glass door it didn’t even look open but was pleasantly surprised how lively it was in the dinning room. food was delicious and service attentive and friendly. i would highly recommend going. get the Sunday roast + cheese macaroni + sticky toffee pudding sundae - you won’t regret it!

Went here on father's day for Sunday roast! It was delicious! So much food and it wasn't too expensive either. Everyone got the roast, but I decided to go with something different. My wife ended up sharing half of her food with me because it was too much. Very busy but they handled it fine.

Booked a table just for dessert which was happily accommodated. The staff were all super friendly and warm, which really added to the experience! The sticky toffee pudding was absolutely incredible - one of the best desserts i have ever had. A moist sponge which was not at all stodgy, with the perfect amount of toffee sauce to accommodate it. The flavour was amazing - sweet, as a sticky toffee pudding should be, but not too much. I will be back just for this, but am also keen to try other things on the menu too! Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely! Update Sept 2024: came by Hawksmoor again for my birthday for this glorious dessert. AGAIN, the staff were so so lovely, and the dessert as glorious as ever. The chocolate written happy birthday and candle was truly the icing on the cake - I cannot wait to come back!
